Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend lubricating the new connecting link before joining both ends of the chain (Fig. B). For clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end opposes the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type link features Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise application. For rivet type links (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise fitting and riveting as per our flare dimensions. Adjust chain sag according to the motorcycle owner's manual, maintaining a standard sag of 10 mm with riders (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Consult your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to ensure compatibility with your motorcycle. Improper selection could result in serious damage or injury.

2. Cut the old chain at its joint. If equipped with an endless or Rivet type link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a fresh connecting link. As you turn the rear wheel, the new chain will align perfectly (Fig. A).
