• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

It is highly advisable to lubricate the new connecting link before joining both ends of the new chain (see Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end is directed away from the chain's drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link includes Press Fit Outer Plates, necessitating the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for pressing the side plates. For Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to flawlessly press fit the connecting link plates and precisely flare the pin head following our guidelines. To adjust chain sag, refer to the motorcycle owner's manual. The standard chain sag with rider load should be 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always verify the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and use can result in significant damage or injury.

2. Cut the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle has an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, ensure the new chain is accurately positioned (see Fig. A).
