• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend thoroughly lubricating the new connecting link before assembling the chain ends (refer to Fig. B). For Clip type links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end opposes the chain drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ type link includes Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper side plate installation. For Rivet type links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool for precision press-fitting and pin head riveting, adhering to our suggested flare dimensions. Follow the motorcycle owner's manual for chain sag adjustments, with a standard sag of 10 mm under the rider's load (see Fig. D).

 

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalog or application chart to ensure compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection or use can result in severe damage or injury.

2. Cut the old chain at its joint part. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a compatible cutting tool for removal.

3. Attach the new chain to the old chain's end using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain accurately (refer to Fig. A).
