• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your motorcycle chain, we strongly advise lubricating the new connecting link before joining both ends of the chain (refer to Fig. B for guidance). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), it is crucial that the clip's open end is oriented away from the drive direction of the chain (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link is equipped with Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the specialized SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to securely press these plates. For Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool should be used to precisely press fit the link plates and flare the pin head accurately, in accordance with our detailed instructions. When adjusting chain sag, always refer to your motorcycle owner's manual. With the rider's weight, a standard chain sag of 10 mm is recommended (see Fig. D for clarity).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. It's imperative to verify that this chain and connecting link are perfectly compatible with your motorcycle. Consult your distributor, local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue/application chart to confirm. Improper selection and use can result in severe damage or injury, so always ensure compatibility.

2. To remove the old chain, cut it precisely at its joint. For motorcycles equipped with an endless chain or a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool, or a tool of equivalent capability, to perform the task efficiently.

3. Seamlessly attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a newly supplied connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will be aligned perfectly in its designated position (see Fig. A for a visual guide).
