Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

To ensure optimal performance, we highly recommend lubricating a new connecting link prior to joining both ends of your new chain (see Fig. B). For clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip opposes the chain drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ type requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for side plate installation. For rivet-type links (ZJ), the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool ensures precision in flare dimensions during rivet pin head fitting. Maintain chain sag adjustments as per the motorcycle owner's manual, with a standard sag of 10 mm under load (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor, local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue to confirm compatibility of the chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection or usage could result in severe damage or injury.

2. Detach the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle features an endless chain or one with a rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or any similar equipment.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a fresh connecting link. As you rotate the rear wheel, the new chain will seamlessly align into position (see Fig. A).
