Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend pre-lubricating a new connecting link before joining the chain ends (refer to Fig. B). For clip type links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end is opposite to the chain's driving direction (see Fig. C). FJ links feature Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper installation. For rivet type links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for precise fitting and riveting as per recommended flare dimensions. For adjusting chain sag, consult your motorcycle manual. Standard sag with rider load is 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart to confirm compatibility of the chain and connecting link with your motorcycle to prevent damage or injury from improper use.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or Rivet type link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar device.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a fresh connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain correctly (see Fig. A).
