Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly advise lubricating a new connecting link prior to connecting both ends of the chain (refer to Fig. B). For clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip is positioned opposite to the chain's drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link features Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to affix the side plates securely. For rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to accurately press fit the connecting link plates and flare the rivet pin head to recommended dimensions. For proper chain sag adjustment, adhere to the motorcycle owner's manual guidelines. Standard chain sag with rider load is set at 10 mm (illustrated in Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. It is crucial to consult your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart, to confirm this chain and connecting link suit your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and application may lead to severe damage or injury.

2. Detach the old chain at its joint section. For motorcycles equipped with an endless chain or a rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool, or a similar tool, for removal.

3. Attach the new chain to the terminal of the old one utilizing a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, position the new chain seamlessly (depicted in Fig. A).
