Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend lubricating a new connecting link before connecting both ends of the new chain (Fig. B). For clip type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure that the open end of the clip is positioned opposite to the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type connecting link features Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the use of the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to securely press on the side plates. For rivet type connecting links (ZJ), the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool is essential for pressing fit and achieving the precise rivet pin head flare dimensions we recommend. For chain sag adjustment, adhere to your motorcycle owner's manual, where the standard chain sag with riders' load is specified as 10 mm (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to verify the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection or usage may result in serious damage or injury.

2. To remove the old chain, cut it at the joint. If your motorcycle is equipped with an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting tool for the task.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. As you rotate the rear wheel, the new chain will seamlessly move into position (Fig. A).
