• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal performance, we strongly advise lubricating the new connecting link prior to joining it with both ends of the new chain (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end faces away from the chain's drive direction (refer to Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link is equipped with Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to secure the side plates. For Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to expertly press fit the connecting link plates and meticulously flare the pin head according to our precise guidelines. For chain sag adjustments, consult the motorcycle owner's manual; with rider load, the standard chain sag should be 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Prioritize safety by confirming the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Consult your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart to ensure the correct selection and avoid potential damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles equipped with an endless chain or a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain using a fresh connecting link to the end of the old one. Rotate the rear wheel carefully to guide the new chain into the correct position (see Fig. A).
