Installation Instructions
1. Always verify with your distributor, local dealer, SFR chain catalog, or application chart to ensure the chain and connecting link are suitable for your motorcycle. Incorrect choices can lead to significant damage or harm.2. Cut the old chain at the joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or Rivet type link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a comparable tool.3. Attach the new chain to the old one with a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain.4. Lubricate the new connecting link thoroughly before joining both ends of the new chain. Ensure the clip's open end is opposite the chain drive direction. The FJ type link features Press Fit Outer Plates needing the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for secure pressing. Use the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for Rivet type link (ZJ) to press fit plates and rivet pin heads precisely as recommended.5. Adjust chain sag according to the motorcycle owner's manual. The standard sag with riders' weight is 10 mm.
