• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

Before installation, ensure the new connecting link is lubricated prior to joining the chain ends (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), make sure the clip's open end faces away from the chain's driving direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type link with Press Fit Outer Plates necessitates the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for accurate assembly. For Rivet-type links (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool to proficiently press fit the link plates and accurately flare the pin head. Consult your motorcycle owner's manual for chain sag adjustments, targeting a standard 10 mm sag with rider load (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Verify the compatibility of your chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection may cause significant damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles equipped with an endless chain or a Rivet-type link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar device for detachment.

3. Affix the new chain to the existing one using a fresh connecting link. As you rotate the rear wheel, the new chain will align flawlessly (see Fig. A).
