• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

It is highly recommended to lubricate a new connecting link before connecting both ends of the new chain (Fig. B). For the clip-type connecting link (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip is set opposite to the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type link, with its Press Fit Outer Plates, requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for side plate installation. For the rivet type link (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for precise plate fitting and riveting, ensuring recommended flare dimensions. Adjust chain sag as per the motorcycle owner's manual, with a standard load sag of 10 mm (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to confirm that this chain and connecting link are suitable for your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and usage may lead to severe damage or injury.

2. Carefully cut the old chain at the joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent cutting tool for precision.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a fresh connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to seamlessly position the new chain (Fig. A).
