• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

Before installation, it's essential to lubricate the new connecting link prior to joining the chain ends (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), the clip's open end should point away from the chain's driving direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type link, featuring Press Fit Outer Plates, necessitates the use of the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise assembly. For Rivet-type links (ZJ), the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool is required to accurately press fit the link plates and properly flare the pin head. Consult your motorcycle owner's manual for chain sag adjustments, targeting a standard 10 mm sag with rider load (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Verify that your chain and connecting link are compatible with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection may lead to serious damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles equipped with an endless chain or a Rivet-type link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent tool for detachment.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a new connecting link. Rotating the rear wheel will ensure the new chain aligns flawlessly (see Fig. A).
