Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal performance, it's strongly recommended to lubricate a new connecting link before joining the chain ends (Fig. B). When using a Clip type connecting link (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end faces opposite the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type link requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to press on the outer plates securely. For Rivet type links (ZJ), the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool should be used to press-fit and accurately flare the rivet pin head as per the specified dimensions. When adjusting chain sag, refer to your motorcycle owner's manual. Standard chain sag with rider load should be 10 mm (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always verify with your distributor, local dealer, or consult the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to ensure that this chain and connecting link are suitable for your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and usage can result in significant damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at the joint. For motorcycles equipped with an endless chain or a Rivet type link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a comparable cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will align perfectly (Fig. A).
