• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend lubricating a new connecting link before assembly for optimal performance (see Fig. B). For clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip is positioned opposite to the chain drive direction (see Fig. C). When working with FJ types, utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise alignment of Press Fit Outer Plates. For rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool for accurate installation and pin head riveting based on our recommended flare dimensions. To adjust chain sag, adhere to the specifications in your motorcycle's owner's manual; the standard chain sag under rider load is 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Consult your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart to confirm the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and usage could lead to severe damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain by cutting at its joint. For motorcycles equipped with an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar device.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a fresh connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will align into position (see Fig. A).
