Installation Instructions
1. Consult your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to confirm the chain's compatibility with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection may result in serious damage or injury. 2. Cut the old chain at the joint. If your motorcycle uses an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent. 3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain. 4. It's crucial to lubricate the new connecting link before connecting both ends of the new chain. Ensure the open end of the clip faces opposite the chain drive direction. The FJ type connecting link features Press Fit Outer Plates necessitating the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper side plate pressure. Use the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool for Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ) to press fit the connecting link plates and precisely rivet the pin head to our recommended flare dimensions. 5. Adjust chain sag following the motorcycle owner's manual recommendation. Standard chain sag with rider load is 10 mm.
