Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal performance, we highly recommend lubricating the new connecting link before linking both chain ends (see Fig. B). When using the clip type connecting link (FJ, RJ), position the open end opposite the chain drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ type link, featuring Press Fit Outer Plates, requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise side plate attachment. For the rivet type link (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for exact fitting and rivet pin head flaring to recommended dimensions. Adjust chain sag according to the motorcycle owner's manual; the standard loaded sag is 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor, local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to confirm that this chain and connecting link suit your motorcycle. Incorrect selection or application could lead to significant damage or injury.

2. To remove the old chain, cut it at the joint section. If your motorcycle uses an endless chain or a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting device.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to bring the new chain into position (see Fig. A).
