Installation Instructions
1. Ensure compatibility of this chain and connecting link for your motorcycle by consulting your distributor or local dealer, or by checking the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and use can lead to serious damage or injury. 2. Cut the existing chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar tool. 3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain. 4. Lubricate the new connecting link before connecting both ends of the new chain. Position the open end of the clip opposite to the chain drive direction. For the FJ type, use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to press the side plates. For Rivet type (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool to fit the link plates and rivet the pin head accurately. 5. Adjust chain sag following the motorcycle owner's manual, with a standard sag of 10 mm with riders loaded.
