Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal performance, it is highly recommended to lubricate a new connecting link before joining the ends of your new chain (Fig. B). For clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end faces opposite the chain's drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link features press-fit outer plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper installation. For rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R to precision-fit the connecting link plates and rivet pin heads according to our recommended flare dimensions. For chain sag adjustments, adhere to your motorcycle owner's manual, with the standard chain sag under load being 10 mm (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor or local dealer, or cross-reference the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to ensure compatibility with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and use can lead to severe damage or injury.

2. When replacing, cut the old chain at its joint. If equipped with an endless chain or a rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar device for removal.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain correctly (Fig. A).
