• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal results, we strongly advise lubricating the new connecting link before uniting both ends of the chain (refer to Fig. B). When utilizing Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end is directed away from the chain's drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link, with its Press Fit Outer Plates, requires the precise action of the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper assembly. Meanwhile, Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ) should be installed using the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool, ensuring correct press fitting and pin head flaring as per our meticulous guidelines. Make sure to adjust chain sag by consulting the motorcycle owner's manual. Proper chain sag with rider load should be approximately 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. To guarantee peak performance and safety, verify that this chain and connecting link are suitable for your motorcycle by referring to your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and usage could result in severe damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle utilizes an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a comparable cutting tool for efficient removal.

3. Seamlessly integrate the new chain by attaching it to the end of the old one with a fresh connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will find its perfect position (see Fig. A).
