Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly recommend that you lubricate a new connecting link before connecting both ends of the new chain (refer to Fig. B). For the clip-type connecting link (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip is positioned opposite to the chain drive direction (refer to Fig. C). The FJ type connecting link features Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise installation. For the rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to accurately fit connecting link plates and rivet the pin head according to our recommended flare dimensions. For chain sag adjustments, follow the guidelines in your motorcycle owner's manual. The standard chain sag with rider load is 10 mm (refer to Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Consult with your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to ensure this chain and connecting link are suitable for your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and usage could result in severe damage or injury.

2. Cut the existing chain at its joint. If your motorcycle utilizes an endless chain or a rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting tool for efficient removal.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will smoothly transition into position (refer to Fig. A).
