Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly advise lubricating a new connecting link before joining both ends of the chain (Fig. B). For Clip type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip faces opposite the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for pressing on the outer plates. For Rivet type links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool to press fit plates and precisely rivet the pin head per our recommended flare dimensions. Adjust chain sag as per your motorcycle owner's manual, typically 10 mm with rider load (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor, dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart to verify compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Improper selection may lead to severe damage or injury.

2. Cut the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a Rivet type link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar tool for removal.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain (Fig. A).
