• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly advise lubricating the connecting link before joining both ends of the new chain (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end points away from the drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type link has Press Fit Outer Plates needing the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for side plate fitting. For Rivet-type links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool to precisely fit the link plates and properly flare the pin head as per our guidelines. To adjust chain sag, consult your motorcycle owner's manual. Rider load chain sag should standardly be 10 mm (refer to Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always verify the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and use can lead to serious damage or injury.

2. Cut the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle features an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. By turning the rear wheel, the new chain will be correctly positioned (see Fig. A).
