Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

Our expert advice ensures optimal installation: lubricate the new connecting link before joining chain ends (Fig. B). For clip type links (FJ, RJ), align the clip's open end against the drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ link's Press Fit Outer Plates need the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for perfect side plate pressing. Rivet type links (ZJ) require the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for precise plate fitting and pin rivet head flaring. Adjust chain sag per motorcycle manuals, maintaining a standard 10 mm sag with rider load (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor/local dealer or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to ensure compatibility. Incorrect selection could result in severe damage or injuries.

2. To remove the old chain, cut at the joint. For endless chains or those with Rivet type links (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar tool for removal.

3. Attach the new chain to the old, using a fresh connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain seamlessly (Fig. A).
