• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

Prior to installation, it's crucial to lubricate the new connecting link before joining the chain ends (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), the clip's open end should face away from the chain's driving direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type link, with Press Fit Outer Plates, requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise assembly. For Rivet-type links (ZJ), the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool should be used to carefully press fit the link plates and flare the pin head accurately. Refer to your motorcycle owner's manual for chain sag adjustments, aiming for a standard 10 mm sag with rider load (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Confirm the compatibility of your chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection can result in severe damage or injury.

2. Detach the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a Rivet-type link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar tool for removal.

3. Secure the new chain to the old one using a new connecting link. By turning the rear wheel, the new chain will align perfectly (see Fig. A).
