• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend lubricating the new connecting link before joining both ends of the new chain (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end faces away from the chain's drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link incorporates Press Fit Outer Plates, which require the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper side plate application. For Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to precisely press fit the connecting link plates and accurately flare the pin head, following our expert guidelines. To adjust chain sag, consult your motorcycle owner's manual. The standard chain sag with rider load should be 10 mm (refer to Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always ensure the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and use can result in serious damage or injury.

2. Cut the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle features an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the high-quality SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a comparable cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. By turning the rear wheel, the new chain will be perfectly positioned (see Fig. A).
