Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend lubricating a new connecting link before joining the ends of the new chain (Fig. B). For clip-type links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip opposes the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type link requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for pressing the side plates. For rivet-type links (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool for a precise fit and rivet pin head flair, as per our recommended dimensions. To adjust chain sag, refer to your motorcycle owner's manual. The standard sag, with rider load, should be 10 mm (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always confirm the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue. Incorrect selection and usage could lead to serious damage or injury.

2. Detach the existing chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or one with a Rivet type link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar device.

3. Affix the new chain to the old one using a fresh connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will seamlessly align (Fig. A).
