• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

Prior to installation, we strongly advise lubricating the new connecting link before joining both ends of the new chain (see Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end faces in the opposite direction of the chain's drive (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link incorporates Press Fit Outer Plates, necessitating the use of the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise pressing on the side plates. For Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to expertly press fit the connecting link plates and accurately flare the pin head as per our guidelines. To adjust chain sag, consult the motorcycle owner's manual, ensuring the standard chain sag with rider load is 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always ascertain the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Improper selection and usage may result in significant damage or injury.

2. Carefully cut the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent cutting tool.

3. Securely attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will be perfectly positioned (see Fig. A).
