Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend you lubricate the new connecting link prior to joining both ends of the chain (refer to Fig. B). For clip type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip opposes the drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ connecting link features Press Fit Outer Plates, necessitating the use of the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for secure attachment. For rivet type connecting links (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to adeptly press fit the link plates, achieving precision rivet pin heads as per our recommended flare dimensions. When adjusting chain sag, adhere to your motorcycle owner's manual recommendations. The standard loaded chain sag is 10 mm (refer to Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. It's crucial to consult your distributor or local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to ensure compatibility of the chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and usage can lead to severe damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or another suitable cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, position the new chain accordingly (refer to Fig. A).
