• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly advise pre-lubricating the new connecting link before uniting both ends of the fresh chain (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip is positioned against the chain's drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link is equipped with Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise side plate installation. For Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), deploy the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to expertly press fit the connecting link plates and skillfully flare the pin head following our comprehensive guidelines. For adjusting chain sag, please consult the motorcycle owner's manual. The standard chain sag with the rider's load is 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Prior to installation, always verify the compatibility of the chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by referring to your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and utilization may result in significant damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle is equipped with an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting device.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old chain using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will be properly aligned and positioned (see Fig. A).
