Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal performance, we highly recommend lubricating a new connecting link prior to securing both ends of the new chain (refer to Fig. B). Ensure the clip type connecting link (FJ, RJ) is installed with the open end set against the chain drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ type link requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper side plate installation. For rivet-type links (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to expertly press fit the link plates and achieve precise rivet pin head flare dimensions as recommended. When adjusting chain sag, adhere to the motorcycle owner's manual guidelines. The standard chain sag, under rider load, is 10 mm (as illustrated in Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor, local dealer, or check the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to verify if this chain and connecting link are suitable for your motorcycle. Incorrect selection and installation could result in severe damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a fresh connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain accurately (refer to Fig. A).
