• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly advise lubricating the new connecting link prior to connecting both ends of the new chain (refer to Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure that the clip's open end points away from the chain's drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type link boasts Press Fit Outer Plates and requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise side plate attachment. For Rivet-type links (ZJ), deploy the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to expertly press fit the connecting link plates and precisely flare the pin head in accordance with our guidelines. Consult your motorcycle owner's manual for chain sag adjustments. The standard sag with rider load should be 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Verify the compatibility of the chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect choices and use can result in significant damage or injury.

2. Detach the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting tool.

3. Fasten the new chain to the end of the old one with a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will be correctly aligned (refer to Fig. A).
