• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly advise lubricating the new connecting link before connecting both ends of the new chain (see Fig. B). For Clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure that the clip's open end is directed away from the chain's drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ-type connecting link incorporates Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the use of the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to affix the side plates securely. For Rivet-type connecting links (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to precisely fit the connecting link plates and properly flare the pin head following our detailed guidelines. For chain sag adjustments, please consult the motorcycle owner's manual. The typical chain sag with rider load should be approximately 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always verify the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and utilization can result in severe damage or injury, so ensure accuracy.

2. Carefully cut the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle is equipped with an endless chain or one featuring a Rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent cutting tool for a seamless transition.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. By turning the rear wheel, the new chain will naturally find its correct position (see Fig. A), ensuring a flawless installation.
