Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend lubricating a new connecting link before joining both ends of the chain (Fig. B). For a secure fit, ensure the clip type connecting link (FJ, RJ) is installed against the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type link features Press Fit Outer Plates, which require the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for proper application. With the rivet type link (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for precise pin head flaring as per our specifications. Adjust chain sag according to your motorcycle owner's manual, with a standard load sag of 10 mm (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Confirm compatibility by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue. Improper selection or use can lead to serious damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its joint. If your motorcycle utilizes an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet type link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a comparable tool.

3. Secure the new chain by attaching it to the old chain's end using a new connecting link. Spin the rear wheel to position the new chain correctly (Fig. A).
