Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal performance, it is highly recommended to lubricate a new connecting link prior to joining both ends of the new chain (see Fig. B). For clip type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip is opposite the chain drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ type link features Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for secure plate attachment. Use the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for rivet type links (ZJ) to press fit the plates and accurately rivet the pin head according to our recommended flare dimensions. For chain sag adjustments, adhere to the motorcycle owner's manual, maintaining a standard chain sag of 10 mm with rider load (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Confirm compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle by consulting your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart. Incorrect selection and use can result in significant damage or injury.

2. To replace, cut the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles with endless chains or those using Rivet type links (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a comparable cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one's end with a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, seamlessly position the new chain (Fig. A).
