Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

For optimal setup, we highly advise lubricating a new connecting link before assembly (refer to Fig. B). The Clip type connecting link (FJ, RJ) requires careful orientation: the open end of the clip must face opposite the chain's drive direction (refer to Fig. C). The FJ type connecting link includes Press Fit Outer Plates, necessitating the use of the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to secure the side plates. Similarly, the Rivet type connecting link (ZJ) demands precision with the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to fit connecting link plates and rivet pin heads to our specified flaring dimensions. To adjust chain sag, refer to your motorcycle owner's manual. The standard chain sag under rider load is 10 mm (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Ensure careful consultation with your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue/application chart to verify the compatibility of this chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection or usage could result in severe damage or injury.

2. To remove the old chain, cut at its joint part. If your motorcycle includes an endless chain or one with a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar device.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will smoothly transition into place (refer to Fig. A).
