Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly recommend lubricating a new connecting link before joining both ends of the chain (refer to Fig. B). For clip-type connecting links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end faces opposite the chain drive direction (see Fig. C). The FJ type requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise application of Press Fit Outer Plates. For rivet-type links (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to meticulously press fit link plates and rivet pin heads to our recommended flare dimensions. Adjust chain sag as per your motorcycle owner's manual; standard sag with rider load is 10 mm (refer to Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Prior to installation, consult your distributor/local dealer or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to confirm compatibility with your motorcycle. Selecting the incorrect chain can lead to severe damage or injury.

2. To replace the old chain, cut it at the joint part. For motorcycles with an endless chain or a rivet-type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar tool for precise cutting.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one's end using a new connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, the new chain will seamlessly align into position (see Fig. A).
