• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly urge you to carefully lubricate your new connecting link before assembly, ensuring seamless connection of both chain ends (see Fig. B). For a clip type connecting link (FJ, RJ), set the open end of the clip opposite to the chain drive direction (refer to Fig. C). The FJ type features Press Fit Outer Plates requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for precise side plate installation. When using a rivet type connecting link (ZJ), employ the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to accurately press fit the link plates and meticulously rivet the pin head according to our recommended flare dimensions. To adjust chain sag, adhere strictly to your motorcycle owner's manual, targeting a standard sag of 10 mm with rider load (see Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor or local dealer, or verify with the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to confirm compatibility with your motorcycle. Incorrect selection or usage may result in serious damage or injury.

2. Carefully sever the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles originally equipped with an endless chain or featuring a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or an equivalent device.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a fresh connecting link. By rotating the rear wheel, guide the new chain into position (refer to Fig. A).
