• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We strongly recommend lubricating a new connecting link before joining both ends of the new chain (Fig. B). For the Clip type connecting link (FJ, RJ), ensure the open end of the clip faces away from the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type connecting link features Press Fit Outer Plates, requiring the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool for side plate pressing. For the Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), utilize the MOTOMAX KM500R Cutting & Riveting Tool to press fit the connecting link plates and precisely rivet the pin head according to our recommended flare dimensions. 5. For chain sag adjustment, adhere to the motorcycle owner's manual recommendations. Standard chain sag with rider load is 10 mm (Fig. D).

 

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always consult your distributor, local dealer, or refer to the SFR chain catalogue or application chart to confirm if this chain and connecting link are suitable for your motorcycle. Improper selection and utilization can result in severe damage or injury.

2. Remove the old chain at its junction. If your motorcycle is equipped with an endless chain or a chain with a Rivet type connecting link (ZJ), use the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a similar cutting tool.

3. Attach the new chain to the end of the old one using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain (Fig. A).
