Product Usage

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

We highly recommend lubricating a new connecting link before joining the chain ends (Fig. B). For clip type links (FJ, RJ), ensure the clip's open end faces opposite the chain drive direction (Fig. C). The FJ type requires the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool to press fit the outer plates. For rivet type links (ZJ), use the MOTOMAX KM500R Tool for precise installation by adhering to our recommended flare dimensions. To adjust chain sag, refer to the motorcycle owner's manual. Standard sag with rider load is 10 mm (Fig. D).

• SELECTION & INSTALLATION

1. Always verify with your distributor, local dealer, or the SFR chain catalogue to ensure compatibility of the chain and connecting link with your motorcycle. Using inappropriate components can lead to severe damage or injury.

2. Cut the old chain at its joint. For motorcycles equipped with endless chains or those with a Rivet type link (ZJ), employ the SFR Cutting & Riveting Tool or a comparable tool for safe removal.

3. Attach the new chain to the old one using a new connecting link. Rotate the rear wheel to position the new chain accurately (Fig. A).
